Get ready to celebrate the special man in your life by creating a fast, fun, and manly gift to help him remember just how much he’s loved and appreciated. You’ll learn fabulous techniques like generation and rock ‘n’ roll stamping, using a corner rounder to create fun and unique shapes, working macho magic with a pivot point stapler, and much more. Then, for a few moments of partying with everything from sprinkles to chocolate mousse, follow Jeanette into the enchanting Art & Soul Cupcakery—and find out why she’s so delighted!

Speaking of cupcakes, now you have the recipes and instructions to make them, too! The instructions are written to describe just one of the cupcakes in each lovely trio, but should give you enough information to be able to create the others or to switch it up and make your own paper confection.

To create the project shown here, follow the helpful hints below. For more detailed information on how to create the featured technique and project, contact your Close To My Heart Consultant.

  • Trim the papers as follows: one 12” x 4 1/4” Colonial White cardstock, one 12” x 4 1/4” rustic distressed B&T Duos™ paper, three 3” x 8” Outdoor Denim cardstock, three 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” plaid B&T papers, two 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” tree B&T papers, two 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” rustic distressed B&T papers, one 8 1/2” x 1 1/8” plaid B&T paper, and one 8 1/2” x 1 5/8” Outdoor Denim cardstock.
  • Using the embossing stylus, score the 12” x 4 1/4” Colonial White cardstock and the 12” x 4 1/4” rustic distressed B&T paper, starting at the top as follows: 1 1/2”, 1 3/4”, 5 1/4”, and 8 3/4”.
  • Using the embossing stylus, score the 8 1/2” x 1 1/8” plaid B&T paper and the 8 1/2” x 1 5/8” Outdoor Denim cardstock starting from the top as follows: 1 3/4”, 2”, 5 1/2”, and 5 3/4”.
  • Using the embossing stylus, score the three 3” x 8” Outdoor Denim cardstock pieces at the 4” mark.
  • Using the corner rounder, round the corners of the following pieces: the 12” x 4 1/4” Colonial White cardstock, the 12” x 4 1/4” rustic distressed B&T paper, three 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” plaid B&T papers, two 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” tree B&T papers, the two 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” rustic distressed B&T papers, and the photos.
  • Using the corner rounder, remove the guard and create a scalloped border on the 8 1/2” x 1 5/8” Outdoor Denim cardstock.
  • Attach the 12” x 4 1/4” Colonial White cardstock to the 12” x 4 1/4” rustic distressed B&T paper, creating the wallet base.
  • Using the sponging technique, apply Desert Sand ink to the wallet base.
  • Using Desert Sand ink, the generation stamping technique and the rock ‘n’ roll technique, stamp the following images on scraps of Colonial White cardstock: two signposts, one big sign, one small sign, and the “discover/explore” image. Trim each image.
  • Using Desert Sand ink, stamp one “Entering the Great Outdoors” sentiment and one “Scenic Route” sentiment on the respective signs. Trim each image.
  • Using Cocoa ink and the masking technique, stamp the signpost around the front of the wallet base, creating a frame when the wallet is closed.
  • Using Cocoa ink, stamp the fish in the bottom right corner on the green side of the 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” rustic distressed B&T paper.
  • Using Cocoa ink, the second generation technique, and the random stamping technique, stamp the fishing lure on the green side of the 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” rustic distressed B&T paper.
  • Using Cocoa ink, stamp the “hooked on fishing” sentiment in the bottom left corner of the 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” rustic distressed B&T paper.
  • Attach the photos and the remaining B&T papers to the 3” x 8” Outdoor Denim cardstock pieces, as desired, creating the wallet flaps.
  • Create the stitched buttons as follows: Place a button on the outside of a wallet flap, where desired; using the piercing tool, make buttonholes. Thread embroidery floss through one buttonhole through to the other side and place another button of the same size on the opposite side of the flap, lining it up with the needle. Thread floss through both holes on the second button, then finish the stitching by threading the floss back through the first button and securing with a knot. Repeat until two buttons are secure on two of the wallet flaps.
  • Add stamped images, ribbon, and Dimensional Elements to the flaps, using 3-D foam tape as desired.
  • Attach photos, as desired.
  • Attach the three wallet flaps to the wallet base.
  • Attach the 8 1/2” x 1 1/8” plaid B&T paper to the center of the scalloped 8 1/2” x 1 5/8” Outdoor Denim cardstock, creating the wallet closure.
  • Slide the closure around the wallet.
  • Attach a Dimensional Element to the front of the closure.
